The Sacred Power and Legend of Phra Rod Mahawan
Phra Rod is believed to have powerful protective qualities, safeguarding against dangers and misfortunes. It is also associated with charm, popularity, and the ability to attract good fortune, as well as providing invulnerability and indestructibility.
The Legend of Phra Rod
In terms of beliefs in the occult, to have faith in the sacred power of an amulet is considered something of a higher class. The belief in occult powers means that the amulet is believed to have experiences in terms of protection, invulnerability, and resilience. It can be concluded that the reason behind such beliefs is that Phra Rod is considered to have immense power and sacredness. Phra Rod is regarded as one of the highest-ranking amulets in the “Five Sacred Set” due to its ancient origins, which make it one of the most respected.
Recently, a test conducted by an amulet expert revealed that Phra Rod continues to perform excellently in tests involving firing bullets. According to the results, when testing the power of amulets:
- At level 1: The bullet does not exit.
- At level 2: The bullet exits but loses force before reaching the amulet.
- At level 3: The bullet exits but misses the target.
Other amulets, like Phra Somdej Wat Rakhang, Phra Phong of Bangkhunprom, and some others with lower power levels, had mixed results — some bullets would exit, others would not. However, super-powerful amulets like Phra Ruang and Phra Huayan (from certain temples) also failed to allow the bullets to exit, demonstrating their incredible power.
Revealing the Sacred Experience of Phra Rod Luang Hiriphunchai, Year 15
Laksana Rekhanithet, an astrologer, shared that the Phra Rod Luang Hiriphunchai from 2015, which Coach Ek had with him during the Tham Luang cave incident, was initially mistaken for a different version. However, after discussing with Keng Mumpra, a well-known monk and expert from Lamphun, it became clear that the Phra Rod Luang Hiriphunchai was indeed the version from 2015. Through conversations with the Wild Boars (Moo Pa) team, it was revealed that two people had the Phra Rod Luang Hiriphunchai with them while trapped in the cave: Nong Taiton and Coach Ek (Ekaphol). The only thing they held onto, while they were very scared in the cave, was the amulet and they prayed.
Laksana Rekhanithet and Keng Mumpra further shared that, according to the monk at Wat Sao Hin in Lamphun, the monk who raised Coach Ek for 8 years, Coach Ek was a former novice monk for over a decade before leaving to take care of his family. He had sent Phra Rod and Phra Khong from Lamphun (300 years old) to the Wild Boar team. Coach Ek later thanked the monk for the amulet, mentioning that when the crisis in the cave occurred, he held the amulet at his neck and thought of the sacred Phra That Hariphunchai and the teachings of his spiritual leader, who had also conducted a ritual to bless him. Coach Ek felt that the goodness from his monastic vows had helped them survive. At that time, no one knew whether they would make it out alive.
